A look into the future of US Politics

This generation is going to dominate the American government in 20 years

Recall my previous post about extremists in the UK? Perhaps its the folks on the other side of the pond we should be worried about.

Scary. There isn't really another word for it. These kids- and many others, and many teenagers- are being indoctrinated into what can only be described as a holy war. Preached at by zealous individuals, touching symbols of their political leaders with a religious fever which is thankfully rarely seen in the UK (though appears to be growing more popular). One mindset, one way of life, one God. No other ideas are acceptable.

The above paragraph describes both the trailer, and the attempts by Islamic extremists to recruit young men to blow themselves up.

The problem is not Christianity. The problem is not Islam. The problem is the fusion of fundamentalist religion and politics.

Despite the fact that I haven't seen the film, I do have a couple of comments based on this clip alone.

For what it's worth, if I were religious, the 'one mindset, one way of life, one God' way of thinking would seem perfectly legitimate. The only issue is whether you try to impose that on others.

How old are are some of these kids? Teaching someone that young, in that way IS brainwashing. This is a camp, where children are brainwashed into a mindset in which they are fighting a battle against evil, a cause for which they would be willing to die (as one child says in the trailer).

Being willing to die for a cause may well be admirable (under certain circumstances), but I have to wonder how long before people brought up like this are willing to kill for their cause.

I believe the child says that he would give up his life for Jesus. This is not, in the Chistian Word-Game, meaning that he would die, merely hand over every facet of his life to the teaching of christ. Again no doubt honourable to the religious man.

These 'Kids' are 7-9, the camp is for 7-9 years olds. A problem I have with that is that ALL Child psychologists agree that this is an age where children do not sufficiently question, create their own rules, and truly own their beliefs.

That said you can not stop a parents right to educate them in their religion without much social to do. You must remember that what goes on in the worship at that camp is not wholly different from how they worship on a normal sunday morning.

Imagine if those kids were older, to bring to their attention the wrongs of society, get them to pray for it, to turn their lives over to the true cause, to try and get people to understand what is right and wrong, to make government in a democratic country. None of those beliefs are new, they were true when the C of E split off from Rome, they were true when Constantine declared the Orthodoxy of thr Trinity. We/I never found it scary until images such as these made it to me. The Pastor running the show did an interview on American TV (tis on YouTube), true to the format it was almost entirely contentless however everything which she said, other than going awol over Harry Potter for a short while, was eloquent and sensible, perfectly true to standard Christian Doctrine and not at all worrying.

But still something turns my stomach and it is the revolution of these Camps and Schools for Home Schooled Evo Kids, which are set up for the explict purpose of Social and political reform. At least 5% of the internships at the White House are filled by Kids coming out of this system. And yet democratically we can not stop it. The Democrats are having to put forward Evangelicans for Election otherwise they wouldn't stand a chance, this is a big swing from but a few years ago. And we should worry about the same phenomena over here, they are here but not so developed as to be so apparent yet, but look how fast it has grown in the states. I'd like some suggestions on some ways to stop it here please. Because it is evil and ... I don't know give me some grounds to even object to it on.
